Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions for Large Parties, Private Hires, Seasonal Events and Meetings.       

In these Terms & Conditions “Dog Bowl”, Greater Manchester, 57 Whitworth Street West, Manchester, M1 5WW trading as “Dog Bowl LTD” and the client means the person, organization, or company responsible for the event. All bookings are subject to the specific Terms & Conditions set out below and may only be varied in writing signed by the General Manager. 

1. Restaurant Bookings 

1.1 Arrival time. All events should start within 15 minutes of the agreed time. Failure to do so may result in the client being re-allocated a new time slot or treated as a cancellation. All bookings should end, and the room or tables be vacated, within 15 minutes of the end time agreed by Dog Bowl. 

1.2 Terms of Deposit. Dog Bowl will notify the client if a deposit is required, and the date payment is due. All deposits are refundable, as long as the entire party is in attendance and on-time, or if the booking was cancelled at least 72 hours prior to the date of the reservation. If the deposit has not been received by the date specified Dog Bowl has the right to cancel the booking.

1.3 Decorations. Dog Bowl does not permit fancy dress or table arrangements with the restaurant without written prior consent by the Events Manager. 

1.4 Prices. VAT is included in all prices quoted and is at the current rate. 

1.5 Service. All food and beverage is subject to a non-discretionary service charge of 10% which will be added to the final bill, unless it has been specified that a package is inclusive of service. 

1.6 Bill Settlement. Payment should be made on departure by cash or credit/debit card as recognized by Dog Bowl. Cheque payment will be accepted as advanced payment allowing 5 working days for clearance. 

2. Private Hire, Including Meetings 

2.1 Arrival time. All events should start within 15 minutes of the agreed time. Failure to do so may result in the client being re-allocated a new time slot or treated as a cancellation. All bookings should end, and the room or tables be vacated, within 15 minutes of the end time agreed by Dog Bowl. 

2.2 Terms of Hire. The nature of the reservation, the name of the client and the name of the person responsible for payment if different from the person making the reservation should be notified to Dog Bowl at the time of booking. Dog Bowl may with absolute discretion and without giving any reason, refuse to let the premises to the client should the actual nature of the function be different from that declared. Dog Bowl reserves the right to increase the private facility hire charge should the nature of the event or the number of guests expected alter significantly. Table decorations, external entertainment or theming e.g. fancy dress, cakes, balloons etc will not be accepted unless with written agreement from Dog Bowl. 

2.3 Final Number Confirmation. Dog Bowl will submit all quotations based on the estimated number of persons who will attend the event. The client will notify Dog Bowl if the number of guests varies by more than 15% and Dog Bowl reserves the right to amend their quotation should this situation arise. Final numbers are required by 5.00 pm, two working days before the event, four working days for parties of 100 +. Once final numbers have been confirmed, this is the minimum number of guests that will be charged for at the agreed menu price on the day. All final numbers will only be accepted in writing only. Any changes to number of people actually attending should be communicated to the Events Manager as soon as possible or to the Duty Manager in their absence. Any increase in numbers will be accommodated to the best of our ability.                                                                                                                                  

2.4 Cancellation Policy. If this contract should be terminated or cancelled the following terms would apply: The client should notify the Events Manager in writing at any date prior to the date of the function. Dog Bowl will endeavor to resell the event space and to obtain an equal profit margin. In the event that the space is resold, the client will reimburse Dog Bowl for any shortfall in profits as a result of the cancellation. If the function space is not resold, the client will pay Dog Bowl the following amounts: Cancellation takes place 120-90 days prior to the date of the Event: 10% of the company’s anticipated total costs to the client of the function as notified by Room to the client, or if not notified at Dog Bowl’s current normal charges. 89-60 days prior to Event: 50% of such anticipated total costs to the client. 59-30 days prior to date of Event 75% of such anticipated total costs to the client. Less then 29 days prior to the date of the Event 90% of the anticipated total cost will be charged to the client. If less than 24 hours’ notice prior to the date of the event the client will be charged 100% of anticipated cost including any costs incurred by Dog Bowl in respect of the event including any such costs in respect of equipment hired in, flowers, staff booked for the function, food, printing and any photographer(s), musicians and other entertainers engaged. 

3. General Reservations 

3.1 Terms of Deposit. Dog Bowl will notify the client of the deposit required and the date payment is due. All deposits are non-refundable. If the deposit has not been received by the date specified Dog Bowl has the right to cancel the booking. 

3.2 Prices. VAT is included in all prices quoted and is at the current rate. 

3.3 Service Charge. All food is subject to a discretionary service charge of 10% for parties of 6 or over, which will be added to the final bill, unless it has been specified that a package is inclusive of service.

3.4 Damage Liability. Dog Bowl maintains insurance against the loss, damage or injury to property, equipment, food and beverages and bodily injury due to the act, neglect or default of its own employees whilst carrying out their duties. Dog Bowl will be under no liability for any loss, damage or injury to the client’s property or the property of the client’s guests or other persons for whom the client is responsible, if such loss, damage or injury is due to the act, neglect or fault of the client or their guests, servants or agents. Notice of all claims by the client in respect of any loss, damage or injury should be given in writing to Dog Bowl at the address given above and in default of such notice. Dog Bowl shall not be held responsible for such claims. The client will be responsible for and indemnify Dog Bowl against all costs, loss or damage, or injury sustained due to the act, neglect or default of the client or of any person for who the client is responsible. A storage area will be provided (subject to availability) at a hire charge to be determined should overnight storage be required. 

3.5 Bill Settlement. Payment should be made on departure by cash or credit/debit card as recognized by Dog Bowl. Cheque payment will be accepted as advanced payment allowing 5 working days for clearance. 

3.6 Unforeseen Circumstances. If due to war, strikes, industrial action short of a strike, lockouts, accidents, fire, blockade, import or export, embargo obstruction, natural catastrophes or other such obstacles over which Dog Bowl has no control, Dog Bowl will not be held responsible for any loss or damage, which may be incurred by the client as a result of this failure.

3.7 Dress Code. Our dress code is smart casual, we do not allow hats or tracksuit bottoms after 6pm.

3.8  Online Bookings. Refunds cannot be issued within 48 hours notice of the booking.

4. Christmas Period 

Applicable to all reservations between 17/11/16– 25/12/18 or any other event deemed explicitly as a “Christmas Booking” such as a one off reservation specifically arranged and agreed in writing by Dog Bowl or the Events Manager. 

4.1 Arrival time. All events must start at the time agreed in advance of booking. Failure to do so may result in the client being re-allocated a new time slot or treated as a cancellation. All bookings should end, and the room or tables be vacated, within 15 minutes of the end time agreed by Dog Bowl.  All reservations are given a 2 hour reservation slot and all food will be served at the time agreed by confirmation of function sheet which will be sent to all clients in advance of party date. 

4.2 Terms of Deposits. All Christmas bookings are confirmed by receipt of a £10 per head deposit via cash, card or BACS payment. All 

deposits are non-refundable. If the deposit has not been received by the date specified, Dog Bowl has the right 

to cancel the booking.  72 hours’ notice will be required for any cancellations. Any alterations made within 72 hours of your reservation will result in relative deposits being held by the site. 

4.3 Prices. VAT is included in all prices quoted and is at the current rate.  All Christmas bookings are not in conjunction with any other offer or discount offered by the venue unless specified in writing by Dog Bowl or the Events Manager. 

4.4 Service Charge. All food is subject to a discretionary service charge of 10% for parties of 6 or over, which will be added to the final bill, unless it has been specified that a package is inclusive of service.

4.5 Bill Settlement. Payment should be made on departure by cash or credit/debit card as recognized by 

DogBowl. Cheque payment and bank transfers will be accepted as advanced payment allowing 5 working days for clearance. 

5. Bowling 

5.1 Bowlers Rights. Bowlers accept the full responsibility and risk associated with the use of lanes and bowling equipment whilst in this venue. Dog Bowl does not accept any responsibility or liability for any direct of consequential injuries, damage or inconvenience suffered or incurred as a result of use of all bowling equipment.

5.2 Personal Belongings. All personal belongings are left at your own risk and Dog Bowl accepts no responsibility for personal items left in our cloakroom or shoe return
